Connection Day

On the 18th of August 2026, at Birranga College we had our 3rd connection day as a whole school. We did multiple actives that were fun. In the first session, we did activities to do with science week. We did a Kahoot about science week, nature, and forces which was really fun. That led us to our next activity which was an escape room. We had to solve the puzzles to unlock a 6-digit code which only a few were able to solve at the end. Moving onto our next and last activity of the day, we had to create our own bug where we could name it ourselves, chose how big to make it, design how it would look and lastly make it ourselves with materials like cotton balls, and Icey poll sticks.

During session 3 students came together in their houses (Bemin, Ngayuk, Barrameel, and Nirnuk) and worked together to make fun, creative house chants to use for future events. In session 4, we had a student choice activity where we could choose between Food tech, Music, Netball, Basketball, and Art. It was a fun way to spend the day doing activities we enjoyed and connecting with others.

Rhea 7D

In the last session, we had a fun trivia competition that brought everyone together in a friendly but exciting way. The trivia was played in groups, with at least one teacher helping each team, which made it even more enjoyable and supportive. The questions were a mix of serious and funny ones, testing our knowledge about the school and the amazing staff who work here. After 9 rounds of laughter and quick thinking, the results were quite surprising — there were four teams that tied up for first place, with each team scoring 22 points. Final points are still being counted for the bonus rounds. The winners will all receive a prize but the real reward was the shared laughter, teamwork, and the chance to connect with people we have never met and teachers in a relaxed, fun, and competitive atmosphere.
