Our Values in Action

At Berwick College, we're helping students develop more than just their academic skills. Every day, we're encouraging them to live our college values of Aspiration, Belonging, Community, Diligence and Excellence—both in the classroom and beyond.

This term, you'll see an even greater focus on these values across the school. Teachers are building them into their lesson plans and taking the time to explicitly discuss what each value looks like in everyday situations. Whether it's showing excellence by students producing their best work, including others in a group activity, setting personal goals or helping a classmate, students are learning that small actions can make a big difference.

The photos capture some wonderful examples of our students putting these values into practice. From our year 7s showing Belonging in the learning areas by collaborating as a team and showing Aspiration in shared spaces, by putting rubbish in the bin. An example of year 10 students showing Aspiration in a digital environment by using technology to learn and create, these moments show what it means to be part of the Berwick College community.

You can help reinforce our values at home by chatting with your child about their day. Simple questions like "How did you show Diligence today?", "When did you help someone feel they belonged?" or "What are you aspiring to achieve this week?" are great conversation starters and help connect what students are learning at school with life at home.

Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to build a school community where Aspiration, Belonging, Community, Diligence and Excellence are lived every day.
