Term 3 has kicked off with plenty of energy across the HPE domain! Students have been actively engaged in a range of experiential and hands-on learning opportunities, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real world settings. In Physical Education, many classes have embraced new units that have challenged students to step outside their comfort zones, develop new skills, and build confidence through participation.
Our Year 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies students recently enjoyed an unforgettable Snow Camp.
Day 1 saw students based at Bonnie Doon, where they competed in the annual 'Buller Cup'. Working in teams, students completed a variety of challenges and answered OES-related questions to earn valuable points. One of the highlights was a stop in Yea, where students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones by completing the challenge of shaking hands with a local community member. The day was filled with teamwork, problem-solving, resilience, and plenty of friendly competition.

Day 2 was the highlight of the camp as students hit the slopes at Mt Buller. Throughout the day, students developed new snow sport skills while experiencing firsthand the alpine environment they have been studying in class. From learning the basics to building confidence on the snow, students demonstrated perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to challenge themselves. It was fantastic to see so much learning take place in such an exciting and memorable environment.

A reminder to all students about the importance of arriving to class on time. Punctuality ensures learning can begin promptly and that valuable class time is not missed. For practical PE lessons, it is especially important that students make their teacher aware when they arrive so attendance records are accurate and teachers can account for every student before activities begin.
Keep an eye on the Student Bulletin for exciting lunchtime activities taking place in the stadium throughout the term. There will be a range of fun and inclusive opportunities for students to get involved, stay active, and connect with friends.
We encourage everyone to come along, have a go, and make the most of these great lunchtime activities!
