Year 12

We are now three weeks into Term 3, and it has been fantastic to see our Year 12 students settling into what is arguably the most important term of their VCE journey.
This term marks the final seven weeks of new learning before classes transition fully into revision and exam preparation. Every lesson from now until the end of term is designed to strengthen students' knowledge and skills before the examination period begins, making consistent attendance, engagement and independent study more important than ever.
Looking Ahead
Planning is already underway for the September non-instructional break, which will provide students with valuable opportunities to prepare for their final exams. During this time, we will be offering:
- External General Mathematics revision sessions.
- External English revision sessions.
- A structured practice examination program.
A detailed timetable and registration information will be shared with families in the coming weeks through Compass.
Families will also receive information shortly regarding our Year 12 Valedictory celebrations, which will take place early in Term 4, prior to the commencement of the VCE examination period. This special occasion provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and contributions of the Class of 2026 before students begin their final exams.
A Reminder: The 38-Hour Week
Success in Year 12 is built not only during class time, but through the learning that happens outside the classroom. Students spend approximately 20 hours each week in classes, with the remaining time making up the recommended 38-hour study week.
We encourage all students to:
- Schedule 30–60 minutes of revision after each class.
- Review learning while it is still fresh.
- Focus on regular, consistent study sessions, rather than leaving revision until the last minute.
One of the most effective habits students can develop is to plan their study week before it begins, rather than deciding what to do each afternoon. Small, purposeful steps taken consistently over the coming weeks will make a significant difference as students approach their final assessments and examinations. Students are encouraged to check in with the mentor at school if they need assistance with this.
With only seven weeks of classroom learning remaining, now is the time to stay focused, seek support when needed and make every lesson count. We look forward to supporting our Year 12 students through the final stages of their VCE journey.
