Principal Report 

Term 3 has begun with a focus on pathway planning for students from Year 8 to Year 11. The school has, over the past 12 months, carefully reviewed the curriculum and pathway offerings to support every student to achieve our vision which is to develop the purpose, character and capacity so that they may make a contribution that strengthens the community. 

This has included a review of core subjects, increase in VET offerings for senior students and the introduction of an Applied Learning pathway for students in Year 10 in 2027. 

As a school, our capacity to offer such diverse offerings means that we then hold the responsibility of guiding each student to make decisions that ensure they reach their potential without limiting opportunity. Every student in Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 has met with a course counsellor to discuss their pathway and subject choices for 2027. The families of Year 10 and 11 students were invited to attend these sessions, and the school was so pleased with the extremely high number of parents and carers who attended the sessions and engaged with this process.  We are really pleased with the increase of engagement and can see the impact this is having on our learning culture.

Course counsellors reviewed the Semester 1 reports as a part of this process with the students. These reports are providing important information to teachers, parents and carers about strengths of students and areas where students can work to improve productivity, problem solving skills, collaboration and learning. All of these skills will be vital in whatever pathway choice the student takes.

I would particularly like to thank the learning area leaders and the teaching staff for their committed expertise in providing such amazing offerings to our students. I would also like to thank the course counselling team for their dedication to our students.
