Term 2 Week 10

Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow afternoon our students will head out the gate for the last time this Semester. They are more than ready for their two week break. A holiday they deserve as they have committed to their learning by bringing their best version of themselves to school each day. Congratulations!

Thank you also to our parents for your continued support of your children and for entrusting us with their education.

Term 2 has also been an incredibly busy term, highlighted by:

  • School and system based improvement utilising Lyn Sharratt’s 14 parameters
  • Blessed Edmund Rice’s Feast Day
  • Administration Appreciation day
  • St Nicholas School Cross Country
  • Stage 3 Debating Competitions
  • Eisteddfod Performances
  • Gregg Dreise Author visit
  • Collaborative Professional Development with the three other Tamworth Catholic Primary Schools
  • Celebrate Catholic Schools Week
  • Participation in the Gary McSweeney Cup: Rugby Union
  • Infants and Primary Open Classrooms
  • 80 Kindergarten 2026 Interviews
  • First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
  • Student Led Learning Conferences
  • Written Semester Reports
  • School Photos
  • Athletics Carnival
  • Participation in the Toni Palmer Shield: Rugby League Gala Day
  • Faith Formation Professional Development for Staff

Each of the events help our students to demonstrate their ability to be the best version of themselves. However, without the correct structures and processes, schools can be a great place of distraction and busy work. Rather than letting these events distract us, they have actually added to our core business of developing literate and numerate students.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated staff of St Nicholas Primary School. Each day you show up and demonstrate an unconditional and positive high regard for our students. Our students and their families are lucky to benefit from such professional and caring dedication.

I would also like to take one final opportunity to farewell Grace Maher, who is leaving us tomorrow for the UAE where she will be commencing a teaching role at Bilal International School in Sharjah. All the best Grace and remember, once a member of St Nicholas school, always a member of St Nicholas school. All the best for the future.

I wish all our students a wonderful Semester break and look forward to seeing them back at school on Wednesday 21st July.
