Grade 2 students during the week read and unpacked the picture story book The Big Bed, at the end of the week they created persuasive posters titled “Why I Belong in the Big Bed!”. Using bold headings, high modality words, and emotive language, they crafted convincing arguments about why they should get the big bed instead of their grown-ups. Students drew on sentence starters like “Everyone knows that…” and “Being in the big bed will…” to structure their ideas clearly and persuasively. Many added speech bubbles and detailed diagrams to strengthen their message.
