Mini Winter Festival | Event update

Get ready to light up the night! 

Junior School Disco | Friday 8 August 

We are excited to share with you the times for our Junior School Disco, which will be taking place during the Mini Winter Festival on Friday 8 August. 

 

Dust off your dancing shoes and bring your energy, funky moves and good vibes to the Nagle Centre for a night to remember!

 

When: Friday 8 August 

Year 3–4 Disco: 5.00pm–6.00pm

Year 5–6 Disco: 6.15pm–7.15pm 

 

RSVP: Entry to the disco is free, but please register your child's attendance using the online form

 

Please note, staff members will be present at the disco to supervise students. While the discos are underway, parents and carers can enjoy the activities on the College Green.

With preparations for the Mini Winter Festival now full steam ahead, we're delighted to introduce the food and beverage providers who will be showcasing their offerings on the night. 

 

We are grateful for these fantastic local vendors for contributing to the success of this event and helping create a warm and festive atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Come see us at Open Day!

Are you considering St Mary’s College for your child’s education?

 

Our gates will be open on Saturday 26 July as we invite prospective families to explore our Junior School grounds and facilities, meet our staff, and discover how we can provide the best foundations for your child’s future. 

 

Early Years tours will be running regularly from 11.00am–2.00pm. Visitors can also enjoy a barbecue, refreshments and activities.

Recycle Rewards – Support our school garden!

Recycle Rewards is Tasmania's 10-cent recycling initiative for eligible bottles, cans and drink containers. The program is expanding across the state, with many collection stations now available. Check the link here to find your nearest drop-off point. 

 

Great news! St Mary's College is now listed as a charity on the Recycle Rewards App. This means you can choose to donate some or all of your recycling refund directly to our school. 

All funds raised will go towards enhancing our school garden and composting system, helping us grow a greener future for our students. Thank you for supporting us on our sustainability journey!

Connecting Generations: Year 3 alumni event 

Are you both a current St Mary's College parent and an alumna of the College? 

 

We warmly invite you to Connecting Generations, a special alumni event hosted by our Year 3 students, on Monday 25 August from 11.30am to 12.50pm.

This event is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, share stories and memories, and experience the College through the eyes of your child and as an alumna. 

 

Guests will also enjoy complimentary light refreshments and a creative 'paint and sip' (of the tea variety) activity that will add a splash of fun to the day.

General reminders:

Office hours 

During the term break, the Student Services office will be open from 9.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday.

The office will return to normal hours on Monday 21 July. Students will resume Term 3 on Tuesday 22 July). 

 

During the school term, the College office is open from 8.0am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.


Uniform exchange

We would like to remind our community that second-hand uniform item exchanges should not take place in the school office. 

 

Families are welcome to arrange uniform swaps in their own time, and these may occur on the College grounds, provided they are organised during pick-up and drop-off periods. Thank you for your cooperation.


Midford Sandy Bay Uniform Shop stock take

Please be reminded that the Midford Sandy Bay Uniform Shop will be closed for stock take on Monday 7 July and Tuesday 8 July. The shop will reopen on Wednesday 9 July at 8.00am.
