Prep to Year 12 report statements
Prep to Year 12 student academic reports will be released this Friday 4 July. These reports provide a snapshot of your child’s progress throughout Terms 1 and 2.
Reports will be accessible via your Connect dashboard, using the ‘Summative Reports’ tab on your child’s profile. The College strongly encourages families to review these documents together with their child/ren. This is a valuable opportunity to celebrate successes and set goals for the upcoming term. Further information on accessing and interpreting the report will be provided on Friday.
Below is a statement from Catholic Education Tasmania outlining the system-wide changes to reports.
Families will notice some changes to CET report formats going forward. As we implement Connect, we are making changes to ensure parents and students have the most impactful formative assessment information available. To achieve this, we are providing feedback to students throughout their courses while ensuring parents are provided with a window into this learning so that they remain informed and can actively support their daughters. Feedback provided through Connect replaces written comments on the mid-year and end-of-year reports. We are also re-emphasising the importance of our Parent-Teacher meetings - both the twice-yearly scheduled Parent Teacher nights and the teacher or parent-initiated meetings that occur as required. The twice-yearly report will provide a snapshot of progress at those given times, but the feedback on Connect and the Parent-Teacher meetings are designed to keep students and parents informed, aware and included in their educational journey through the year.'

The Push-Up Challenge
Week 9 saw the end of the Push-Up Challenge. The College celebrates the incredible effort, energy and enthusiasm that each of you brought to this event. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen students, teachers, and staff push themselves, literally and figuratively, to support a great cause and promote physical fitness. Whether you did 10 pushups or 1,000, your participation mattered.
Together, we’ve not only strengthened our bodies but also our school spirit and sense of community. It’s been inspiring to see everyone cheer each other on, challenge their limits, and have fun while doing it. Congratulations to College House, who completed the most pushups throughout the 23 days.
Year 10 Pillars experiences
At St Mary's College, the Pillars experiences are part of a unique and enriching program designed to help students explore their identity and potential in the broader world. The Pillars program is grounded in Positive Education principles and the PERMAH framework developed by Martin Seligman, which focuses on wellbeing through Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment and Health.
Year 10 students engaged in a three-day program in Week 9 that supported their interests and skills. From creative chaos to contouring, rock climbing and wellbeing activities, the students are highly commended for their positive engagement and spirit throughout the programs. Thank you to Miss Mia Blignaut and the staff who shared their knowledge and skills with our students.
