Year 9 Science
Brain dissection
Over the last few weeks Year 9 science students have been studying disease in class, part of which involved study of the nervous system.
Students were keen to get the chance to perform a lamb brain dissection.
Experimental
Year 9 elective experimental science students have been looking at biodiversity and the importance of local ecosystems. With the fine winter weather we took the chance to get out into the field and observe the northern migration of humpback whales out at Hat Head.
Year 9 Outdoor Education
Year 9 Outdoor Education bushwalking Smokey Cape.
Year 10 Child Studies
Year 10 Child Studies students have been exploring food and nutrition in childhood this term. In Week 6, they put their knowledge into action—planning, preparing, and cooking meals tailored to meet a range of special dietary needs for children. Check out some snapshots of the students in action.
Deadly Science comes to KHS!!
On Thursday 15 June some of our Year 7 Students were engaging with a STEM activity to learn about how Aboriginal peoples managed the waterways. It involved solving problems to trap enough fish to eat, whilst allowing the small and big fish to escape to leave some behind for future generations. Students enjoyed the engaging day. Thank you Deadly Science!"
