As Term 2 draws to a close, it’s clear that it has been a full and rewarding time for both students and staff.  The term saw the completion of Semester 1 subjects and assessments, with students demonstrating strong engagement and commitment to their learning. The positive results reflected in end-of-semester reports are a testament to the effort and focus that has been consistently applied throughout the term.

Term 2 was also rich with co-curricular highlights. Our annual Talent Night was a wonderful celebration of student creativity, showcasing an impressive array of performances. In addition, various musical performances added vibrancy to our school community and provided valuable platforms for our students to share their talents.

As part of Reconciliation Week, our junior school students participated in a meaningful incursion that featured dance and music performances in collaboration with a local community Indigenous group. The event was a resounding success and offered a valuable opportunity to deepen cultural understanding and celebrate connection through the arts. In addition, our recent Open Night was another highlight on the Term 2 school calendar. Despite the wet weather, we were thrilled with the strong turnout. Many stayed to enjoy the fire pit and quite literally learn s'more from our staff.

We have now completed a full semester of implementing the READY framework, and it is encouraging to see students engaging thoughtfully with their preparedness and readiness for learning. Many have been working closely with their teachers to develop strategies that support thriving learning environments. This collaborative approach is strengthening student agency and ownership of learning across the school.

Beyond the classroom, we’ve seen a number of student clubs flourish both during and adjacent to the school day. These clubs provide valuable opportunities for students to explore their interests and passions, and deepen connections across the school.

We concluded the term with a whole-school assembly to celebrate the achievements and highlights from across the semester. It was great to come together before the term break to reinforce the strong sense of pride and community that exists within our school.

As we look ahead to Term 3, we want to thank students, staff, and families for their continued commitment and support. Wishing everyone a safe, restful, and happy break.

Regards,

Steph Pearce, William Donaldson and Marc Favre
