Finishing strong in 1/2SM!

This term has been super busy for 1/2SM with activities such as Indonesian Day, Sports Day, John Hannah House, Christmas Carols and the Swimming Program. 

We are enjoying our last few weeks together as 1/2SM and will be very sad when we have to say goodbye to each other at the end of the year.

The Solar System

In Literacy we have been learning about the Solar system. At the end of this unit we created an informative poster to include facts about our favorite space topics and presented this to our class. Making sure we used appropriate body language, eye contact and clear voices. The Solar System has been one of our favourite topics to learn about this year. 

Swimming

We have also loved taking part in the Swimming Program. Although there were some nerves during the first few lessons, everyone quickly found their confidence and began to really enjoy the sessions.

Here are some of the things we enjoyed:

I enjoyed looking under the water  - Hunter 

My favourite part was when the swimming teacher threw me into the water and we got to play with sinkies - Emma

I enjoyed kicking and gliding in the water - Nora

I liked practising my freestyle - Ethan

I like using the kickboard - Alex

I like jumping in the water and looking underwater - Jason

I like doing the soldier kick - Maxton

I can go to the deep end and I can practise my freestyle - Chris

I like doing torpedoes at swimming - Christiano

I like doing freestyle - Ava

I like playing Stingray at the bottom of the water - Viola

I like swimming because we get to look underwater and it’s fun - George

I like swimming because we can put our heads under water - Alan

I like swimming because our teacher lets us splash a bit - Nadia

I like swimming because sometimes we get to play a game - Iziah

The teacher let me jump into the deep end - Angeline

I like to go to swimming because we get to do starfish floating - Mandala

At the end of the swimming lesson we are allowed to play games - Hayden

I like swimming because we get to play games like Stingray and holding our breath for a long time - Mila

I enjoyed swimming because we get to learn different strokes - Levin

I enjoy swimming because the teacher throws us in the pool - Ethan

I like swimming because we get to do torpedoes, backstroke, freestyle and we get to play lots of games - Miles
