Open Parachute - Supporting Healthy Social Media Use

Open Parachute is an online platform that we are using as a school to dig deeper into student well-being. In class students view videos of age appropriate challenges faced by students, and are then provided with proven strategies by clinical psychologist Dr Hayley Watson. This creates proactive positive mental health, and comes from research designed to reduce incidents of a range of mental health challenges, potential conflict and bullying.

Below is a link to a learning module called "Supporting Healthy Social Media Use". It takes around 30 minutes to complete, with the learning objectives of:

  • learn strategies for supporting healthy social media habits
  • learn conversation tools for social media boundary setting

In order to access the link, you will need to:

  • use Google Chrome as your browser
  • provide an email address so you can access the course
