Grade 5/6 Newsletter

Wow! We have rounded off the year with an incredibly busy last two weeks.
We were lucky enough to recently have Alice Pung, a local published author visit and share her writing processes with us. She has written books such as, Meet Marly and Be Careful Xiao Xin. We loved hearing about her life and how she got her ideas and inspirations for her characters and story plots.
We had an excellent night at our Festive Concert last week! A huge well done to the Grade 5 and 6 students for such amazing dance moves. You did yourselves, your families and teachers very proud!
This was a little sad for the Grade 6 students and teachers as it was the last concert for the Grade 6 students so it was extra special!
We hope you also popped in and got a glimps of the students amazing art work in the fabulous Art Show, on the same night.
On Tuesday morning, all our students took part in our school Step Up Day, with many of our Grade 6 students headed off to an orientation day at their new High School.
For the Grade 5 students, they met their new teacher and had fun through 'getting to know you' activities.
The Year 5 and 6 teachers for 2026 are: Mr Allardice and Ms Sturzo in 5A and Miss Nguyen in 5B.
Miss Britta in 6A and Miss Seher and Miss Angela in 6B.
All the teachers are very excited to get to know their new students and learn together throughout the year.
Also this week the Grade 5 and 6 students had an awesome day out at Altona Beach as part of our Life Saving Education excursion. We learnt many important new skills, how to stay safe on land and in the ocean and thoroughly enjoyed being with our friends.
And to end the week for the Grade 6 students we held the Grade 6 Graduation on Thursday evening. What special celebration it was!
Huge congratulations to all our super stars in Grade 6! What a fantastic year you have had! Miss Nguyen and Miss Britta have loved teaching the majority of you for two years! We wish you all the very best for your future journeys, no matter where they take you.
And from the photo booth....
A reminder that the last day of the school year is next week on Friday 19th December. Early dismissal is at the time of 1:30pm. It is also a casual clothes day.
And finally, from all the Year 5/6 teachers this year, we would would like to thank you all for your continued support throughout 2025.
Happy Holidays and a safe New Year!
