Message from the Principal
Cecilia Parada
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude and warmest farewell to our wonderful speech pathologist, Shannon Rosbender, who has supported our students and staff with dedication and care for many years. Shannon’s expertise, kindness, and commitment have made a lasting impact on our school community, and she will be greatly missed. As she moves on to her new chapter in Perth, we wish Shannon all the best in her journey ahead. Thank you for everything, Miss Shannon - you will always be a valued part of our school family.
To assist with planning for staffing and classes, all our families are asked to indicate whether or not their child will be continuing their education at Meadowbank Public School in 2026 or starting later than Monday 2 February 2026.
Please complete this form: https://forms.gle/5XESoXLtdAEjc7Dc8 by Friday 14 November 2025. Please fill out one form per child. This is not necessary for any student in Year 6 (2025).
The form asks you to inform us whether your child will be continuing at our school in 2026 or starting later than the first day of school (Monday 2 February 2026). Some families know that they are moving to another suburb, state or country in 2026, or they may be applying for leave due to travel. We need accurate numbers as the NSW Department of Education will staff schools on the actual number of students enrolled. It is critical we know this information now so that our planning for classes in 2026 can be better informed and we will be able to form classes sooner at the start of the school year.
If you have any difficulty completing this form, please contact the school office 9809 3648.
If your child is starting later than Monday 2 February 2026, please ensure you apply for a Certificate of Extended Leave. This ensures that your child is counted in the enrolments and assigned a class.
We appreciate your trust in our school and look forward to another successful school year. Our priority is to provide the best educational experience for your child, and we believe that this collaborative process will help us achieve that goal.
At this time of the year, we start planning our classes and staffing for the next school year. Our dedicated teachers engage in a thoughtful process to create balanced classes, taking into account student needs, available resources, and the overall dynamics of the classroom. This approach helps ensure that each child benefits from a variety of teaching styles and experiences, enhancing their educational progress.
Please note that in some cases, composite classes (a mix of different grades) may be necessary. These classes can provide valuable opportunities for collaboration and peer learning, allowing students to thrive in a diverse learning environment.
We understand that each child has unique needs, and we are happy for you to share any factors you believe should be considered when forming classes for the next year. If you have specific requests or considerations, please feel free to reach out to me. You may email the school, note ‘Attention Miss Parada’. While we cannot guarantee specific placements, we will do our best to accommodate your input. Please let me know by Friday 28 November.
We want to hear from you! Our school is excited to explore offering a variety of activities outside of school hours and would greatly appreciate your input on the types of programs and experiences you and your family would like to see. Whether your child’s interests lie in sports, arts, academic support, or other areas, your feedback will help us design engaging and meaningful opportunities tailored to our community’s needs.
Please note that these activities will be facilitated by external providers, and there may be associated costs for families. The school will provide suitable space for these programs.
We invite you to take a few minutes to complete this survey and share your ideas. Your voice is essential in guiding us to create activities that best support and enrich the lives of our students and families.
