Australian Mathematics Competition Success at Endeavour College
Each year, the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) conducts the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), one of the nation’s most respected assessments of mathematical capability for students in Years 3 to 12.
The competition challenges participants with thoughtfully designed problems that develop higher-order thinking, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.
Secondary students are allocated 75 minutes to complete 30 questions without the use of calculators. This structure promotes precision, mental agility, and the confident application of mathematical concepts in unfamiliar contexts.
Endeavour College is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students in this year’s AMC. With in excess of 130 students electing to participate, the level of engagement was exceptional. Notably, 47 students achieved a Credit or higher, demonstrating strong proficiency across the cohort. A further six students were awarded Distinctions, placing them among the top performers nationally and highlighting the depth of mathematical talent within our community.
These results reflect not only the commitment and perseverance of our students but also the ongoing dedication of our staff in fostering a culture of curiosity, resilience, and excellence in mathematics.

Esports Program Fosters Belonging, Growth, and Wellbeing
Our relationship with UniSA and the research conducted this year highlights a powerful story of growth, belonging, and wellbeing within our school’s Esports program. Initially beginning with just five students, the extra-curricular club has now expanded to twenty-one highly engaged participants, signaling not only increased interest but a thriving, supportive environment in which students feel safe, valued, and connected.
Findings from the study show that many Esports club members display higher traits of neurodiversity, and that the club plays a significant role in strengthening their sense of social belonging over time. Students described feeling more comfortable, included, and more able to connect with peers in this space compared with mainstream sports settings.
This validates the club as a genuine alternative pathway for students who may not find their place in traditional extracurricular structures.
The complementary study on the TILTED emotion-regulation card game showed that students developed a clearer understanding of emotional responses during play, along with more flexible strategies to manage frustration (“tilt”).
This kind of skill-building, practical, applied, and socially grounded, benefits all participants, regardless of neurodiversity.
In short, the Esports program has evolved into a vibrant hub of connection and confidence.
The data reinforces what we see every week.
When students are given the right environment, they flourish, socially, emotionally, and as valued members of the Endeavour learning community.
