Dear Families of OLSC
This is the final new letter for 2024. On behalf of all the staff we thank you for your ongoing support of the school and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
On Friday night, we farewelled our 2024 Year 6 students at their Graduation Mass. We will certainly miss the energy they have brought to the student body and we wish them well as they venture off to secondary school next year. We hope they grasp every opportunity presented to them with both hands and keep up a growth mindset as they face new challenges. Good luck and best wishes for the years ahead!
Last week we celebrated a Nativity Liturgy followed by Christmas carols. John, Hayley and the students of 3/4 Yellow prepared the Nativity story beautifully and, as they acted, Scarlett and Celeste narrated the events. Thank you to all of the families who joined us for this very reverent and joyous celebration.
Once again, this year's Colour Run was an outstanding success and was really enjoyed by all. The schoolyard was awash with coloured powder and slime as the teachers and students ran the course together, soaked by the fire truck hose. A big thank you to our Parents and Friends group who organised the whole fundraising event - we truly appreciate the time and effort that went into all aspects of the afternoon.
The Big Summer Read is taking place at all Wyndham City libraries over the summer holidays. This is an initiative that aims to combat the 'summer slide' where children often don't pick up and read books over the holidays. The Big Summer Read runs from 1st December 2024 until 31st January 2025. Register and participate for free at https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/kids-big-summer-read .
For more information, please contact Wyndham City Libraries on 8734 8999 or mail@wyndham.vic.gov.au.
