Volunteering at Pilgrim School
We love having volunteers in a range of roles at Pilgrim School and on Campus. If you have some available time, you may want to help in classrooms (e.g. listening to reading), become involved with our Learning Assistance Program (working regularly with a student or small group of students), sports coaching or managing, fundraising, helping in the Canteen or Library, or attending camps or excursions.
Please use the link below for more information about the process for volunteering at Pilgrim School.
If you are considering volunteering at Pilgrim School, please read our Volunteers Guidelines and Code of Conduct.
Our highest priority is to ensure we maintain a safe environment at Pilgrim School for all children and members of our school community. All volunteers need to register through our online Volunteer Registration and Agreement form:
As you will see, volunteers need to provide details of a current ‘Working with Children Check’ certificate, 'Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care' (RRHAN-EC) certificate and it is highly recommended they also complete an online Protective Practices training. Due to the three year update cycle of RRHAN-EC certificates, we are aware that many expired on 31st December 2024. Those with an expired RRHAN-EC will need to do the updated course prior to their next volunteering event. Details of accessing these trainings are included in the Volunteer Registration and Agreement Form and on our website.
Please continue to sign in and out through the Front Office each time you volunteer at Pilgrim School.

Please let the Front Office or Dee Footman (P&F Coordinator) know if you are able to assist. The school is offering to reimburse these volunteers for their pool entry fees (one adult and up to two children).

Pancake Day
Pilgrim School is celebrating Pancake Day for parents, children & staff in the courtyard area between the main Pilgrim building and the Oasis building.
- When: Tuesday 4th March 2.30pm - 3.30pm
- Cost: $4 for 2 pancakes + toppings (gluten-free pancakes will be available)
- Please order and pay via the Qkr! app by Thursday 27th February. There will be a coffee van available on the afternoon for complimentary hot drinks for adults (you can donate toward the hot drink via Qkr! if you choose).
- Why? To raise funds for Uniting Care agencies across Australia to assist our most vulnerable citizens and raise awareness of the issues of poverty and disadvantage in our community.
Please note that formal classes will conclude at 2.30pm. Staff will supervise students without an adult present until pick up time at 3.10pm. Families are encouraged to enjoy this time with their children and may collect them from class at 2.30pm, to accompany and supervise them as they enjoy this event. All pancake orders will be issued to students from 2.20pm, even if their parent is unable to attend.
As per our usual procedure, students that leave the school grounds before 3.10pm, will need to be signed out at the Front Office.
We are still needing helpers in the afternoon for the tasks listed below, if you are available to help out, we would welcome your involvement. Please indicate your availability by choosing one of the volunteer options also on the Qkr! app as soon as possible to help with this event.
Helpers are needed to:
- Set up (from 1pm)
- Cook pancakes (from 1.30pm)
- Serve pancakes (from 2.20pm).
We look forward to sharing this community event with you.
