Inclusive Education

Miina marni, hello and welcome to another year of learning at Pilgrim. The Inclusive Education Team and I are excited to be back working alongside class teachers to support curriculum delivery and assessment to students from Foundation to Year 6. The primary role of our team is to facilitate the inclusion of all students, and assist school staff to ensure that students with varied abilities have access to the curriculum, and opportunities for participation on the same basis as their peers. This is achieved through a combination of in-class support, small group, and 1:1 intervention. We also play an integral role in assisting students and teachers through extracurricular events such as camps and excursions: swimming and sports days: yard and lunchtime activities. Pilgrim continues to invest in the growth of all students through high-impact teaching and evidence-based curriculum, intervention, and enrichment programs. We absolutely love to see our students engaged in new learning, exploring the world around them and serving their community. We strive to maintain a culture of inclusion where Pilgrim students flourish, and know they belong.
I look forward to meeting all our new students and families over the coming weeks. If you have any questions about inclusive education at Pilgrim, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Blessings,
Yiota Chesterfield
