Wellbeing in 2025

Welcome back families, we have a big year ahead in the sphere of Wellbeing.

We will be implementing the revamped Respectful Relationships units in areas of stress management, problem-solving, help-seeking and emotional literacy.

Cyber Safety will continue to be a termly focus alongside the support of Inform and Empower programs.

Student Engagement and Voice is big on the agenda in our annual action improvement plan, with a student engagement team to be formed to help improve this area of our school.

STAR leaders will now be semester based, giving 8 students in Grade 5 leadership opportunities before Grade 6. A big congrats to our STAR leaders of 2025:

Berry Street PD Day

Our teaching staff have just completed Day 3 training in the Berry Street Education model. Day 3 of the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) training focused on Stamina and Engagement. It explores strategies to help students sustain effort, stay engaged in learning, and build resilience. Key topics include:

  • Cognitive Load Theory – Understanding how students process and retain information.
  • Growth Mindset & Persistence – Encouraging students to embrace challenges.
  • Motivation & Goal-Setting – Using strengths-based approaches to increase engagement.
  • Self-Regulation Strategies – Techniques to help students manage emotions and stay focused.
  • Task Design & Flow – Creating engaging, appropriately challenging learning experiences.

We look forward to seeing these elements improve and support our students over the coming school year.

SRC Update: Free Dress Fundraiser

SRC will be formed shortly for this year and will continue the work on fundraising for our improved Footy net.
