Year 11 Camp
Year 11 Melbourne Experience
By Natalie.
Ms Stimson organised the Year 11 camp to Melbourne. We visited different universities to do tours, workshops and learn about Uni. We completed a design workshop at Swinburne Uni, took a walk through Melbourne University, had a tour of St Hilda’s College, and visited RMIT for a tour and presentation. In between the university visits, Ms Stimson organised bowling and laser tag on the first day, shopping, the Melbourne Museum and rock climbing for the second day. To be prepared and get used to finding our way around Melbourne, Ms Stimpson created a ‘Find your Bearings’ activity and a Melbourne Race. Teams went to different places within the CBD and completed tasks within the time limit at as many places as possible to earn points. This took us to places like the Fitzroy Gardens, The Arts Centre and the Old Melbourne Gaol. The dinners out La Porchetta and Grill'd were delicious and a highlight. Everyone learnt a lot about the universities, navigating Melbourne and time management. It was a fun and amazing experience that everyone will remember for a long time. We thank Ms Stimson for working hard for us to have this opportunity, keeping us safe and making this camp fun. We also thank Mr Harris and Mrs Macklan for joining us, answering our questions about Uni and supervising us. We’d like to give the Rotary Club of Mount Beauty a huge thank you for consistently supporting our Year 11 Melbourne Experience Camp!
