Principal's Report

Parent survey
"Parent feedback is the compass that guides our school towards continuous improvement and excellence."
I want to begin my Principal message with emphasising the importance of completing the parent survey that will be sent to every parent and family next week. This year, we are eager to hear from as many families as possible. Every year, we only average about eight responses, which isn’t enough for us to gauge feedback from our families. We would love to surpass that number this year. Your views are crucial in helping us improve and cater to our school community's needs effectively.
Parent carpark
Due to recent reports and incidents of dangerous driving, parking, and misuse of our parent car park, Sandra and I have spent every morning this week observing and reteaching expected behaviours. On Monday, we observed that at least 80% of parents/carers/families were not following the rules. This included not using the footpath and crossing, not holding children's hands, and driving too fast. I can't stress enough that the safety of our school community is our biggest priority.
The good news is, our presence and reminders to families have definitely had a good outcome. I am happy to report that there has been immense improvement this week, and most families are now doing the right thing and being safe. Well done, everyone, and thank you sincerely. The challenging part will be keeping it up! Sandra and I will be out there periodically to keep an eye on things, with the hope that everyone has learned this week to keep our community safe. I know it is hard in the morning if you are running late, but slowing down does prioritise our children's safety and is a requirement to be able to keep the car park open and as a resource to our families. I will have no hesitation in closing this carpark if this recent change in behaviour cannot be maintained.
Another positive outcome has been the wonderful opportunity to connect with families during our time in the car park. Sandra and I have loved this part. Smiling children, high fives, happy parents, carers, and families—it's been fantastic!
Staffing
We would like to warmly welcome Erinna Khong as classroom teacher for group 19. It has taken hard work and perseverance, but we are nearly there with a full teaching staff! I would like to thank all the families who have showed us patience and understanding while we have navigated our teaching shortage.
Planning for 2025
We have started the planning process for next year. If any families are leaving for any reason (apart from our graduates), please let us know as soon as possible to support our planning.
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.
Warm regards,
Lindy
