Visual Art

Thank you!

A huge thank you to everyone that donated boxes and old towels. There was a wonderful response. Thank you also the those of you that have collected newspapers and brought them into the art room, it is greatly appreciated.

What's been happening in Visual Art this week........

Some really big and exciting new projects have begun in the art room over the last couple of weeks. These have included sewing, ceramics, paint and construction!!!!!  It is going to be an action-packed term and I cannot wait to see the creations the students make.

Foundation students have been making 'letter banners' using the first initial of their name.  They have even given sewing a go, many for the first time.  Well done !

Grade 1 and 2 have been working a on making clay bells.  These are now drying, ready to be fired in the kiln in a week or so.  They look terrific.

Grade 3 and 4 have been introduced to a wonderful artist called Yayoi Kusama and have been inspired by her polka dot and pattern work to paint a brightly coloured masterpiece.

Full steam ahead with the construction of a steampunk inspired robot in Grade 5 and 6.  These are going to be terrific.
