Do all that you do with love ~

Dear Families,

It has been a huge couple of weeks for our Foundation students who not only celebrated Milo's Birthday Surprise but they have also been at school for over 100 days now!

Milo's Birthday Surprise celebrated the fact that our Foundations children have learnt the sounds of the alphabet. We challenged them to come dressed as the character that is associated with their name or their favourite Little Learners character. Even the Foundation staff dressed up to join in the fun!

It's hard to believe that this time last year I was interviewing our current Foundation students as part of the enrolment process and now they are over half way through their first year of school. To celebrate 100 days of school on Tuesday, the children dressed up as old people or what they would like to be when they are grown up. We have future astronauts, police officers, doctors and artists in our midst. I challenge you to have a conversation with your children about what you wanted to be when you were in Prep. Are you doing that job now? I declared that I was going to be a teacher when I started school and here I am now!

Book Week is fast approaching and we are inviting you all to join us in a range of celebrations. Our Book Fair will be open on the following days:

  • Monday 19th August 3:30pm - 4:00pm
  • Tuesday 20th August 8:30am - 8:50am and 3:30pm - 4:00pm
  • Wednesday 21st August 8:30am - 8:50am and 3:30pm - 4:00pm
  • Thursday 22nd August 8:30am - 8:50am and 3:30pm - 4:00pm

Our Grandparents Liturgy, Morning and Tea and Book Character Parade will all take place on Wednesday 21st August. The celebrations will commence at 9:05am. The Book Fair will also be open after the Liturgy for any treats that our visitors might wish to purchase for their grandchildren. The children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character on this day. Our staff are busy planning their outfits, there have been hushed conversations in the staffroom - I love how everyone joins in on special days like this.

Last year we introduced our Story Time and Cocoa session as part of our Book Week celebrations and after feedback from staff and families, this will run again. Teachers will choose story books to read to visitors between 6:00pm and 7:00pm and a warm drink will be available as well. Keep an eye out for an invitation in your emails - all family members are welcome!

Enjoy your weekend - let's hope the sun continues to shine and the end of winter is in sight!
