Milk Cartons

Dear Year 3 and 4 Parents,

Each student needs an empty carton like the one in this photo for an Art Project. We would really appreciate it if you could please bring one to the school by Monday August 5th.

There will be a tub in the office foyer to put it in.

Thanks so much!

Servant Leadership

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new leadership initiative for our Year 6 students, focusing on social justice and community service. This initiative is designed to complement our students' preparation for Confirmation by providing opportunities to demonstrate the gifts of the Holy Spirit through acts of service.

Starting in Week 1, Students have been divided into groups of six, with each group engaging in a different activity every Friday for five weeks. The planned activities include:

  • Preparing food for St. Peter's and Paul's kitchen to feed those in need
  • Helping out at CaspaCare nursing home
  • Providing support to our prep students
  • Participating in a street clean-up
  • Assisting in the school garden

We believe these experiences will be invaluable in helping our students understand the importance of serving others as leaders and putting their faith into action. This initiative will not only help them grow as individuals but also as leaders and members of our community.

Year 3 Update

First week back of term 3 and we have been super busy diving into a variety of enriching topics. In maths we’re exploring the concept of equivalent fractions, delving into how fractions with different numerators and denominators can represent the same value. We now know that 4/8 is the same as ½!  In our writing we have been looking at recounts. After the school holidays we had lots to talk about so it was great to learn how to retell these events in a clear engaging manner. In STEM we are looking at sustainability and how important it is to protect our environment. Lastly in RE, we’re exploring the theme of discipleship, understanding what it means to follow principles of faith and compassion in our daily lives. It’s been an exciting and educational week of learning and growth!

Galilee Athletics Day

A glorious day at Lakeside Stadium saw our Grade’s 3-6 participate in our annual Galilee Athletics Day.

Decked out in their house colours and participating in age groups, students competed in Track and Field events for themselves and their House.

Hurdles, 100m Sprint, Discus, Shot Put, Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump, an event for all to show their skill and talents.

At the end of the day we had some tremendous results in which we saw students take home age group champions for the most successful athlete in their age group. Congratulations to the following:

9/10 Boys - Richard Barker

9/10 Girls - Ella Brown

11 Girls - Sienna Mackenzie

12/13 Boys - Caleb Goss and Peter Parisotto

At the end of each event, teachers would vote for an individual who showed great sportsmanship but also the school values. An accumulation of votes saw them win the Sports Spirit Award.
