Book Week!
Book Week: Friday, August 16 to Friday, August 23
Book Week is upon us and our first author, Jane Godwin, visited earlier in the week and enthralled the Foundation classes with her presentation about the inspiration for her books and how she collaborates with her illustrator. She read two of her books with the final fun activity having the kids draw and name a bear with some interesting results.

Lian Tanner
Year Group: 1 & 2
Lian Tanner has been dynamited while scuba diving and arrested while busking. She once spent a week in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, hunting for a Japanese soldier left over from the Second World War. Nowadays she lives by the beach in southern Tasmania.

Andrea Rowe
Year Group: 3 & 4
Andrea Rowe is a best-selling award-winning picture book author, freelance writer and nationally awarded writer of short stories, and late night book reader.
Her debut picture book Jetty Jumping, illustrated by Hannah Sommerville was awarded the 2022 CBCA Picture Book of the Year – Early Childhood. Sunday Skating was released in 2023.

Katrina Nannestad
Year Group: 5 & 6
Katrina Nannestad is a multi-award-winning Australian author. Her books include the CBCA-shortlisted We Are Wolves, The Girl Who Brought Mischief, The Travelling Bookshop series, The Girl, the Dog and the Writer series, the Olive of Groves series, the Red Dirt Diaries series, the Lottie Perkins series, and the historical novels Rabbit, Soldier, Angel, Thief, Waiting for the Storks and Silver Linings.
