Book Week 2024
Dress Up Parade
There are some fantastic activities planned for Book Week 2024 at Weeden Heights in week 6 of term, starting on Monday 19 August with our dress up parade!
Students are strongly encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book characters. We can’t wait to see all the wonderful costumes and there are prizes for the best dressed! Please remember to bring a gold coin donation and all proceeds will go to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
The Great Book Swap
Weeden Heights is participating in the 2024 Great Book Swap, a fundraising activity that supports the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and their works with remote Communities across Australia.
We hope to have every student in the school take part to make the Book Swap a huge success. All you need to do is bring either a picture book or a novel (to be donated) and $2 to school by 21/8/24. Students will then exchange their pre-loved book for another book on Friday 23 August.
Virtual Author Tours
We are also very excited to announce a virtual author tour taking place over the course of the week. Students have the opportunity to listen to wonderful authors including Andy Griffiths, Jacqueline Harvey, Jackie French and many more!
Please see your child's teacher should you require any further information about the week's activities.
