Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

 Good afternoon families,

I hope you are all ready to watch the Olympics over the next two weeks. It really is such an exciting time for all of us to cheer on our Australian team and a time to be proud to be Australian.

Congratulations to year 6 girls football team who achieved 3rd in the Kingston Division competition.

Congratulations to our Mixed netball team who competed in the Kingston Division competition. They finished3rd, thank you Mrs Gill for all being the super coach.

Congratulations to our Year 6 boys tennis team. They won their section and are off to the next stage of the competition. Thank you to Mr Andrew for running the day and Mrs Traynor for supporting all our tennis players. Well done to our Year 6 girls team, and both the Year 5 boys and girls teams. All 39 St Louis' students had a great time and were wonderful ambassadors for our school.

Congratulations to year 6 students on receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday. Thank you Bishop Tony Ireland, Father Andrew and Father Ignatius for such  beautiful masses and to Mrs Douglas and the Year 6 teachers for all their support on the day.

Teamkids

Our Before and After school provider has a new Director Audrey Bagshaw. We welcome Audrey and know she brings a lot of experience and dedication to her job.

PFA

Thank you to our PFA for organising the Chocolate drive . Thank youtoall thefmailies who supported the drive. We raised $6,000 and we have purchased "Big Blue Blocks for a new free play area. All the children will have access to this new play space and it promises to be very popular.

Book Week Parade

One of our key focus this year has been to ensure that our core learning is given enough time to be taught, practised, reviewed and consolidated. In view of this we have made some decisions around whole school activities this term. We will be celebrating the Olympics as a school on the 6th of August and Italian Day on the 15th of August. This also coincides with the Feast of the Assumption.

This year Science Week and Book Week will not be celebrated at a whole school level but will certainly be highlighted in levels and individual classrooms.  Next year they will be explored more extensively and the Book Week Parade will occur on a bi-annual basis. This year we will not be having the Book Week Parade.

Car Park Reminders.

Please remember to use the school crossing when you are coming from your cars into the school.

Please remember the speed limit is only 5 km.

Please do not stop at the gate waiting for a space in the 'kiss and go' area. This holds everyone else up, from coming into the carpark and parking.

Please do not park and get out of your car in the "kiss and go" area.

Please remember to do the full loop of the carpark and not cut through.

School Closure Day.

In Term 3 we will be having a school closure day on Monday 2 September.

Enjoy your week
