DVA-Mental Health Project

In collaboration with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Mental Health First Aid International is pleased to announce Mental Health Protect, a fully funded mental health literacy and suicide prevention training program available to all members of the veteran community.

The program features free courses from leading training providers Mental Health First Aid and LivingWorks. Courses are available in various formats to equip individuals and their families with invaluable skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to signs of psychological distress or mental health crises.

Why this program matters  As you may know, veterans often experience unique challenges that significantly increase their risk of psychological distress and suicide compared to the broader Australian community.

The Mental Health Protect program is designed to provide veterans, their families and support networks with the necessary information, resources and support to navigate these challenges, ultimately aiming to save lives and improve the quality of life for veterans.

Mental Health Protect – Information Session Join us for an information session to learn about the Mental Health Protect program, and how ex-service organisations and other community groups can get involved.

The event will be recorded and shared with registrants, so if you cannot make it on the day you will be able to view the session in your own time.

By participating in this program, your members can become an essential part of the support network for the over half a million Australians who have served or are serving.

Please contact the Mental Health Protect team at protect@mhfa.com.au you have any questions.
