Dear Parents,

I would like to congratulate our Year 6 students on receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation yesterday in Westernport Parish. It was such a beautiful service with the heartfelt message from the Bishop to reach out and make a difference to the lives of people by doing generous actions.

By using the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit, we can live spirit-filled lives and have a positive impact on others.

Congratulations to Anne, Riley, Tora, Maddy, Olivia, Charlotte, Gus, Joe and Indi.

A huge thank you to Natalie Dullard for her excellent faith leadership.

Last Thursday, all three Parish schools came together for a wonderful day where Gen Bryant and her band led a spirit-filled day where our Year 6 students reflected on how they can use the gifts and fruits of the spirit in their daily lives and how to step up, shout out, take action and be the best person they can be.

We have a new buddy bench in the Community Garden. This was a wonderful initiative of the New Peninsula Men’s Shed and we thank them for their support of our school. I would also like to thank Lisa Galvin for leading this initiative and all the students who decorated the buddy bench.

It was green and gold on Friday with a great day of celebration for the Olympics. The Olympics is such a special time where we see athletes putting their dispositions to the test, providing such a great role model for everyone in how grit, determination and hard work all come together to celebrate their amazing efforts.

A big shout out to Amanda Strickland and all the students participating in Wakakirri. It is coming together and the final touches are being put on the story dance. What a wonderful event for our students and we congratulate them on all the effort they are putting into it. Students will present the story dance at Frankston Arts Centre on Tuesday 24th August. Students will also present the Wakakirri again at Balnarring Hall on Friday 6th September at the Westernport Writing Festival and then at our school concert in November, so lots of celebrations in the performing arts area.

The Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Principal Selection Process has begun this week. The Principal Selection Process panel will work through a MACS specially designed selection process to provide advice for the MACS Regional General Manager as to who is the best applicant to lead your school into the future.

The panel consists of:

MACS Executive Director's Nominee (EDN)
- Senior Manager School Leadership - Jennifer Hawkins
an experienced, current Primary Principal – To be advised
School Advisory Council parent - Grant Rolston

Our school staff and School Advisory members have met with the EDN to provide their insights into the knowledge, skills and expertise of a new principal. It's a highly confidential and thorough process that will see a new principal being appointed to our school for 2025. The position will be advertised widely. The Principal Selection Panel will work its way through the various steps of the process.

We pray for the panel in all their deliberations and may the Holy Spirit guide their discernment and enrich their discussions.
