Principal's Message
Dear parents, students and families,
The first on-site meeting with the architects and MACS for our refurbishment project was held on Wednesday. As with all major projects these things take time. It is important to get this just right as we move from concept drawings to an agreed project within the limitations of the budget provided. Hopefully we will be underway with the tender process in the not too distant future.
Today we celebrated the Feast Day of Australia's first (and only) Saint, Mary McKillop, in a variety of ways within the classroom. It was a joy to join one of the Foundation classes where I was able to find out what they had learnt as they made their very own commemorative badges.
A reminder that over the next week a number of our students will be receiving Eucharist for the first time. We pray that the Holy Spirit helps them to develop their gifts as they move to becoming full members of the Church. Please keep Luke B, Lola T, Lawson C, Kevin C, Grace F, Oscar L, Jasper H, Logan P, Chantelle B, Oliver H, Edward K, Ziggy P and Lilith T in your prayers.
Special congratulations to Jasper and Logan who received Eucharist for the first time last weekend.
Tomorrow our Year 5/6 students continue their Winter sport program playing Netball, T-Ball and Soccer against Kananook PS away.
Foundation are spending the day in their classes celebrating their first '100 Days of School' which I'm sure will be very special for them.
Looking ahead to next week, our African Drumming continues, on Tuesday we will celebrate Science Week by having a Science Celebration Day on Tuesday 13 where we will be joined by John Paul College Students and Staff. We will have a whole school Mass to celebrate the Assumption of Mary on Thursday 15 and on Friday our seniors will play against Belvedere PS at home. Not too many quiet weeks at St Anne's! :-)
This week we have welcomed two pre-service teachers to our school. Miss Chloe Keating is working with Mrs De Veer and her 5/ 6 class while Mia Clohesy is working with Miss McKenzie and her 1/2 class. May you enjoy your teaching rounds and learn a lot from our wonderful classroom teachers and great students.
Kind regards and God Bless
Rod Shaw
