5C

Throughout the term 5C are reading the class text, War Horse by Michael Morpurgo, about a horse named Joey as he endures the events of World War 1. 

Students have been engaged in developing their reading fluency by taking turn to read aloud to the class, focusing on their pace, expression and speaking clearly. Throughout our reading we pause to discuss different elements of the text including new vocabulary, literary devices, and the events of the story. 

Students are encouraged to ask questions and extend their thinking through the exploration of supplementary readings that help deepen their understanding and provide additional context around the events and experiences of World War 1.
