In 2C, we have had a fantastic start to our Numeracy curriculum, with Ochre forming an important part of our maths learning. Students have been doing a wonderful job learning the routines and expectations of our Numeracy block, including being organised and prepared with the correct books and stationery for each lesson. They are building strong learning habits and showing pride in their work.

Through our Maths lessons, students are developing their maths skills through engaging, explicit and hands-on learning experiences. We have been focusing on number knowledge and place value, and one of the class’s favourite activities has been choosing a number between 0 and 1000 and working together to order themselves from smallest to largest. This fun, collaborative task strengthens their understanding of number sequencing, comparing numbers and recognising the value of digits. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explain their thinking and support one another in their learning.
