Market Day - 1st December

Here are some student reflections from the Market Day on Friday 1st December.

At last, it was Market Day, the day we’d all been waiting for! A day to demonstrate our selling and money exchanging, and for a chance to raise money for Caritas, a charity focused on helping and supporting those in need.

First, my group and I set up our stall, we had a Petting Zoo! Before the market had opened, our stall was enveloped in a cloud of stress and worry, as we didn’t know what to do with Ed only making 1 pen for the animals instead of 2, and Savannah’s mum not being able to bring the lambs and the goat.

Before long the market was in full swing, with students and other customers rushing around to buy things! My role was taking care of Ziggy at first, which proved a challenge when she was barking at the rabbit, and when our front desk person went to sick bay! However, Ziggy was taken back to the office, and our stall was ablaze with customers.

Finally, we managed to fill our float of money to the brim, with students still wanting to purchase our animal stickers, keyrings, and cookies, as well as entry to the animals. We all had an amazing time, and Market Day was a massive success! It was an amazing time and I’m proud of my efforts.

Market Day was extremely fun, we got to go to other people’s stalls while someone else was taking care of our stall. We got lots of customers that were so nice. I liked Sophie’s stall it was so cool and the jewelry was amazing.

We got told whether it was time to go or it was time to pack up we got lots of opportunities to go and have a look at the stalls and I loved everyone’s stall but couldn’t get everything because lots of people got sold out very fast.

It was hard not to eat and drink everything at our stall but we did it and we sold out on our lollies and most drinks. Overall I had an amazing time with my friends and enjoyed every moment. we got lots of donations for Caritas.

An SRC Message of          Thanks from Mrs Wallace

It has been a great pleasure being a Senior Leader of the SRC Support Crew this year.

It has been incredible working with each member of the crew from Prep up to Year 6. They have given up their own play time to serve the students and teachers of the St A’s community.

I am so proud of the fantastic job they have done and I know that their teachers and parents are incredibly proud too.

We put out the challenge to do random acts of kindness, and you all certainly have done that.

It has been heart warming after each duty to hear the wonderful stories of our students, teachers and Learning Support Officers being kind, caring, sharing, forgiving and understanding on the playground.

It shows why our community is so special and treasured by so many.
