School-wide Postive Behaviour and JSC
We wish to congratulate and thank Mackellar's 2023 school captains Chloe and Siddig, along with Junior School Council members; Zyanya, Austan, Isabella, Evan, Aliah, Kevin, Antoinette, Jackson, Zamaima, Jesse, Stella and Katie. Their work throughout the year has been outstanding.
We are extremely grateful for their commitment to all JSC leadership responsibilities which have strengthened Mackellar's school-wide positive behaviour systems and strategies. Our leaders are excellent role models who demonstrate initiative and courage in their willingness to embrace new experiences, such as public speaking. The team led various school-wide events this year, such as Harmony Day, Anzac Day, Book Week Parade, Day for Daniel, Remembrance Day and our recent Christmas Toy Fund. They conducted whole school surveys to ensure that all students had a voice, promoted activities, and assisted in the planning and organisational details for our school community. A few captured moments are included below.
School Captains: Chloe and Siddig
Vice School Captains: Zyanya and Austan
Yellow House Captain - Aliah
Blue House Captain - Kevin

JSC Representatives:

Our 2024 JSC was announced recently following individual presentations and a democratic election process. We are immensely proud of all students who applied for positions; they spoke confidently and passionately about Mackellar and their aspirations for our community. Every student who applied is to be commended for their ability to assert themselves in presenting their ideas to their peers and teachers.
Congratulations to:
School Captains: Giorgia and Levi
Vice Captains: Tarzan and Jennissa
Red House Captain: Delio
Blue House Captain: Ocean
Yellow House Captain: Zoe
Green House Captain: Chelsea
Grade 3, 4 and 5 students will have an opportunity to apply for JSC positions early next year, which involves nominating themselves and giving a brief presentation, followed by a democratic student election.
Kind Regards,
Tanya Lindsay-Clark
