Grace & Gratitude

To give thanks and recognise how blessed we are. To be mindful of our heritage with a feeling of appreciation. To reflect on the graciousness of God’s gifts given to us. God’s grace is eternally giving away - God, for nothing else except the giving itself. The early beginnings of our school began in 1860 and were further established with the Brigidine Sisters arriving in 1886 with both St. Joseph’s College and St. Mary’s growing in students enrolling and attending. Over the years, much fundraising has taken place in order to build the facilities we are grateful for. The Brigidine sisters established 63 convent houses, 43 primaries  and 16 secondaries in Victoria alone, mainly with money raised themselves. They were resourceful, holding concerts, picnics and indeed fetes. Provision for our community and all to provide first class facilities and build our educational systems. So as we celebrate in community with our biannual fete, let us remember and give thanks. God’s Grace is a gift and Gratitude is peace.

"Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love endures forever." Ps 118

Prayers of Thanksgiving & Gratitude

Thank You God, for your abundance, for blessings filling our lives,

Lord God, we do not always remember to thank You as we ought

For all You have done for us and given us.

We praise You for Your goodness and

Offer our prayers of thanksgiving to You…

Father, Father up above,

Thank you, thank you for your love.

Thank you, for your guidance & grace,

I can see and I know these came from you.

Father, Father up above,

Thank you, thank you for your love.

Thank you for my meals and my warm bed too,

I can see and I know these came from you.

Father, Father up above,

Thank you, thank you for your love.

Thank you, for my friends old and new,

I can see and I know these came from you.

Thank you Father

For your gifts to me

Amen
