Ministry
When you think of leaders, what comes to mind?
Badges, titles, or maybe those outspoken individuals who seem to have it all figured out?
That’s what many people envision, but here’s the thing- we see leadership differently.
For us, leadership isn’t about fancy titles or being in the spotlight. It’s about making a real impact, no matter who you are or what label society assigns you. It’s about stepping up and supporting others, even when it’s not expected of you.
In our school, leadership isn’t reserved for a select few. Sure, we have role models and mentors, but we believe that everyone has the potential to be a leader in their own way. It’s not about age or status; it’s about mindset.
We recently had a discussion about leadership and what it means to us. We talked about qualities like empathy, communication, and trust. Understanding others' perspectives and actively listening were big parts of that conversation. We even drew inspiration from teachings that emphasize the value of serving others—a principle that's often overlooked but holds incredible power.
Mark Chapter 9, Verses 35 elaborates on this idea of a servant leader, where Jesus sat down with the Twelve Disciples and said,
“anyone who wants to be first must be very last, and the servant of all.”
Here, Jesus demonstrates how if we aspire to be good leaders, who reflect the hope and love of Christ, we must first serve others and show them what it means to love and support one another.
See, being a leader isn’t just about giving orders. It’s about working together, listening to different ideas, and creating an environment where everyone feels heard and valued. It’s about lifting each other up, empowering others to find their strengths, and shining a light on the potential within each person.
Our prayer sessions aren’t just rituals; they’re moments where we come together to ask for guidance in becoming better leaders. We ask for the wisdom to understand that leadership isn’t about control but about the genuine connection and support we offer to our community.
So, here’s the thing we want to leave you with: leadership isn’t confined to a certain type of person or a specific age group. It’s a mindset—a way of thinking and acting that empowers those around you.
Whether you wear a badge or not, you can bring leadership into your everyday life.
It’s about being there for your peers, inspiring them to be the best versions of themselves, and creating a ripple effect of positivity and support. We can follow the great example that Jesus showed us by being a servant leader.
In our eyes, that’s the true essence of leadership—a force that transcends labels and empowers us all to make a difference.
