Dear Parents and Carers,
Semester Two Reports will be issued via COMPASS on Friday December 13. The Semester Two Report takes a new format, inline with the rebranding of Armidale Catholic Schools. If you wish to discuss your child's report with their class teacher before the end of the school year, please contact the office to make an appointment.
This coming week is very busy for everyone. Thursday night, December 12, K-2 will present their Christmas Pageant at Manilla Town Hall. Thankyou to staff members and parents who have been involved in many ways to make this happen. Most importantly, thankyou to the students for undertaking such a huge task at this time of the year when everyone is tired and a little testy. Students are to wear casual clothes and their costume will go over the top. Children will be dressed in their costumes at the venue by attending staff.
Friday December 13, we will have our final school Mass for the year. The Mass will commence at 9.30 a.m. in St Michael's Church. Parents, carers and friends are warmly welcome to attend. Families who are leaving St Michael's, other than the families in Yr 6, will be farewelled at this Mass. We have many families relocating to other towns. After the Mass, we will be going to Manilla Central Hall to practise for our Annual Awards' Ceremony. We will also have a rehearsal on Monday December 16 at Manilla Central Hall.
Monday December 16, our Annual Awards Ceremony will be held at Manilla Central Hall at the High School campus. Thankyou to our friends at Manilla Central for sharing this great space with us. All children K-6, will receive an award to celebrate learning throughout 2024. All children are to attend the ceremony in school uniform and the start time will be 6.00 p.m. sharp.
Staffing for 2025 will hopefully be finalised this week. Our 'moving up' day will be Tuesday December 17. Children will visit their classroom for 2025 and meet their teacher. This is always an exciting time for students and staff, but can also be a time of anxiety for some. If your child is not going to be with us in 2025, they will go with their present class to the 2025 destination. If you have any questions, please contact the school. This day is traditionally the last day for our Yr 6 students and they will be in Tamworth enjoying a great day out. On Tuesday night, Yr 6 will graduate, celebrating with Mass at St Michael's Church followed by dinner and festivities at the Manilla Services Club.
A reminder, if your child is not attending St Michael's in 2025, please inform the office if you have not already done so. This enables us to farewell your child in a suitable manner and for you, it is the polite thing to do. Any outstanding fees for families leaving, are expected to be paid in full, or current payment plans to be honoured over time. Outstanding debts without a payment agreement will be pursued. Thankyou to the families who have indicated they are moving on for 2025 and will no longer be with us, we wish you well in your future adventures. We look forward to seeing everyone at our celebrations over the coming week.
All the best,
Bronwyn
