Well it’s the middle of Term 4 and in the Performing Arts we have a tradition this time of the year - Lip Sync Battle. It’s not really a battle though. Just a chance for our students to dress up and mime and create a dance movement to a favourite song either with a group of friends or even solo.
The last few weeks they have all picked their songs, talked about what they are wearing, created a backdrop and have been busy rehearsing their moves.
(The backdrop is their own art which we use in the video… the students perform in front of a green screen)
Next week we begin filming so students will have to bring any clothes or costumes they are going to wear on the day they have Performing Arts. Because the timetable has changed they will need to be aware which day that is.
The students are very excited and we are looking forward to more fabulous acts this year.
In Visual Arts this term, students have been busy creating vibrant and exciting projects to finish the year.
Foundation students read The Echidna and the Shade Tree and explored colours, shapes, and patterns in Indigenous storytelling, creating their own echidna artworks with collaged Indigenous-inspired spikes.
Year 1/2 students have been inspired by Ancient Greek Geometric art, designing intricate patterns on their own Greek vases.
Year 3/4 students dived into the world of Yayoi Kusama, crafting a whimsical troop of mushrooms and enjoying the opportunity to use paint pens.
Meanwhile, Year 5/6 students, eagerly awaiting their ceramic pieces from the kiln, have been designing custom stickers—a consistent favourite among the group!
