i sea i care
Last Thursday we travelled to Jack’s beach for our I sea I care excursion. To start the day we went on a nature walk. We learned about the different types of weeds in the park. We continued walking and discussed the native habitats of animals that live in the park, and how they survive and live. After this we had a food break. We then met an Aboriginal man from the Torres Strait Islands, he talked about how his ancestors lived in the past and the tools they used to survive. Some of the tools they used were a boomerang, which they used for hunting. He showed us a possum and kangaroo skin that children are given when they are born, they were very warm! We had a quick break for lunch and then did our last activity. We discussed how climate change is damaging our earth. We had to order countries from most to least amount of damage done to the earth because of climate change. Finally we had to order the worst to best foods and how they pollute the environment. Because this was our last session for the year we were given a certificate.
