Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Yesterday, Ebony and Drew attended a forum with me at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership in Camp St. Around 60 students in Year 5 and Year 11 attended from schools in Ballarat. Along with other students on their table they discussed and brainstormed the theme “Creating a Better Future” and explored Respect in Action. What respect looks like, feels like and sounds like at school. Over the next 12 months Drew and Ebony will share, help lead and support the work at our school to create a better future, that is respectful and inclusive.

It has been an exciting two weeks in the realm of science! Classes have participated in incursions focused on learning about minibeasts, recycling paper, dinosaurs and using microscopes. I had a great time with students from 12E inspecting, drawing and exploring arachnids, spiders, scorpions, snails and worms. Our foundation students visited the Ballarat Wildlife Park yesterday which was very informative and exciting.

Our 2025 foundation students visited on Wednesday to hear a story about “The Zoo” and complete a colouring, cutting and glueing activity. Mrs Carey, Mrs Macdonald and I had a great time meeting our 2025 students.

Monday 25th November is a student free day, to allow teachers to write their end of year student reports.

Enjoy the sunshine tomorrow and have a great weekend!

Regards,

Anthony Tait
