A message from Tami -Jo

Dear Parents/Carers,

What an exciting time of year it is! As we approach the end of another year, we have so much to celebrate and be thankful for. Walking through the school, chatting with our students, I am reminded of how incredibly fortunate I am to be part of this community. Their warmth, curiosity, and enthusiasm are truly inspiring, and it is a privilege to work alongside them every day. The Christmas spirit is already evident in classrooms with carols being played and some Xmas activities being enjoyed by the students. We have an action-packed couple of weeks ahead, and I’m eager to share some important reminders about the upcoming events.

Step Up Days

Year 6

On Tuesday, 10th December, our Year 6 students will enjoy an exciting "Step Up" day as they join their future classmates in secondary school!  This day will give them a chance to explore some of the subjects they will study next year, meet some of the teachers who will guide them, and get a glimpse of their future school life. It’s going to be a fun and engaging day, and we can’t wait to see them dive into this exciting new chapter. They will finish at 2:30pm.

Years Prep-5

Step Up for Prep to Year 5 students will take place on Tuesday, 17th December. We’re thrilled to welcome our new 2025 Prep students! This special day will give our students the opportunity to meet their new classmates and teachers and get a sneak peek at their 2025 classroom. We kindly ask that all students arrive on time to ensure a smooth start to this exciting experience. At the end of the day, students will bring home a letter with details about their new class and teacher. We ask for your patience as we ensure that everything is organized and communicated clearly to everyone at the same time.

Parent Assistance

Your support is invaluable in making this transition as smooth and positive as possible. Please encourage your child to approach these changes with an open mind and a positive outlook. We understand that not every student may be with their current friends or feel immediately excited about their new teacher, but this is a wonderful opportunity for growth and new experiences. Our teachers have carefully considered each class to ensure a balance of personalities, abilities, and gender, which will help support your child’s development. Embracing change is a key life skill, and together, we will make this transition a rewarding experience for all.

If your child feels a little nervous or unsure, please reassure them that new friendships will blossom, and they will build strong connections with both their new classmates and teachers. If you have any helpful information to share, please feel free to pass it along to the new teacher, who will use it to support your child’s growth and well-being. We are committed to making sure every child feels happy, safe, and secure, and we will work closely to ensure a smooth and joyful start to the new school year.

Graduation

On Thursday, 12th December, we will celebrate our Year 9 students as they prepare for their next steps into Year 10. Many of these students have been leaders at our school since its beginnings in 2019, and they have played a pivotal role in shaping our community. It has been a true pleasure to watch them grow, and we are confident that the skills they’ve developed here will help them thrive in the future. We look forward to celebrating with them this week!

Year 6 Assembly

On Monday, 16th December, we will celebrate our Year 6 students as they complete their primary school journey with a special assembly and morning tea with their parents. Last week, they had a fantastic time at Adventure Park with their peers and teachers. On Tuesday, they will participate in Step Up Day, where they’ll meet some of their new teachers and experience new subjects. Their drop-in afternoons last week were a great success, and it was wonderful to see them engaging with the new students and asking thoughtful questions. It’s truly exciting to watch our students embrace new opportunities and take the next step in their educational journey.

Thank you for your continued support in making these events a success. We look forward to celebrating these milestones with our students and their families!

Performances

Our students have been working hard and showcasing their talents as part of their performing arts program this term. Some of our Year 5 students had the opportunity to perform on Friday, with the remaining Year 5 performances happening on Wednesday, and Year 4 students performing on Friday. Our Prep to Year 3 students will have their performances recorded, and the link will be shared with all families on Friday. The students have been actively involved in both the preparation and rehearsal processes, and we are excited for everyone to see their hard work come to life!

School Reports

End-of-year reports will be available in the final week of school. We encourage you to take some time to read through these reports with your child, celebrating their achievements and growth throughout the year. It’s also a great opportunity to discuss areas for focus and goals for 2025, as we continue to work together to support each child’s learning journey.
