Principal's Message
Term 4 - Week 9
What an evening to remember! Our End-of-Year Concert on Wednesday night was a heartwarming celebration of community, creativity, and festive cheer. It was wonderful to see so many families, friends, and staff come together.
The evening was filled with incredible performances by our talented students, who brought the stage to life with their singing and dancing. From the Kinder students singing ‘Aussie Jingle Bells’ and ‘Peppermint Sticks’ to the senior choir and dance troupe’s vibrant and polished routines, the effort and energy on display were outstanding.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our families for attending and showing your support. Your encouragement and enthusiasm in the audience created a wonderful atmosphere and made the evening so special for our community.
We are also deeply grateful to our amazing staff, particularly Sarah Cullen, our Specialist and Admin/ES teams, as well as Leonie Semmens and our parent volunteers, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the event together. From organising rehearsals, barbecues and raffles to setting up the stage and managing sound and logistics, your dedication made the night a huge success. And, of course, congratulations and thank you to our incredible students!
Yesterday I sent out a notification from Jen Teoh School Council President. Please see below: The process for appointing an Acting Principal for Term 1 & 2, 2025, for our School has been finalised. After a rigorous recruitment process, I am happy to announce that Claudia Rushton has been appointed as Acting Principal.
Claudia is an outstanding educator with extensive leadership experience across a number of primary schools. She joins us from her current role as Assistant Principal and brings a high level of expertise in leading teaching and learning, wellbeing and inclusive education. Claudia is very excited to begin working with our community and getting to know you and your children.
Claudia will be commencing with us from the first day of Term One 2025, and will be in the Acting Principal role for the duration of Term 1 and 2 while a process to appoint the next substantive principal takes place. I know you will join me in warmly welcoming her to our wonderful school community.
Huge thank you to the volunteers that were able to make it this morning. Although we didn't have many we would like to try the breakfast thank you idea again next year with an invite to children as well as we know it can be difficult to get out of the house of a morning - and this way they can have breakfast with us. I was able to take the time to thank Mais Sukkar for all her help with our Headlice program, Jess Walker for organising our Community Liaison support and of course the amazing Leonie Semmens for all work and efforts in organising our events and the Parents and Friends.
