Schools Savings Bonus

Information for Families

Families should by now have received at least one email from the Department of Education regarding the School Saving Bonus. Families with a child enrolled in a government school from Prep to Year 12 in 2025 will receive the one-off $400 School Saving Bonus.

The $400 School Saving Bonus provides families with support for education-related costs, such as school activities and/or school uniforms and textbooks. Families at Cowwarr  Primary School will be able to use these funds to pay for their child’s camps and excursion fees. 

Actions for parents and carers

From Tuesday 26th November families should start to received an email from the Department of Education with their “Bonus Code” and instructions on how to use it. You will need this code and the email address it comes to, to be able to log in to the parent online system.

Please check your junk mail regularly to make sure you do not miss an important email. If you do not recieve your email by Friday 29th November please contact the school ASAP and Mrs Bassett will follow up for you.

Once you have successfully logged in you will have the option of how you would like to spend your child’s $400. 

For camps and excursion, please choose “school activity”. Any funds selected under “school activity” will be paid directly into your family account with the school and can be used for the excuriions and camps. Once funds are in your school account, families with multiple children can combine funds from younger siblings to cover the cost of camps if they choose.

If you would like to purchase uniform items you will need to choose the “instore purchase” button and select the amount of funds you wish to spend.

Funds can be split any way you prefer and does not need to be allocated immediately if you are unsure how you would like to spend it. Please do note, if you choose to allocate $100 towards in store uniform and you only spend $80, the remaining $20 will sit there available for uniform purchases only until 30/6/2025 at which time any unspent funds will automatically move to your family account.
