Dear Parents and Carers,

A very big welcome back to all our students and families for term 2! It has been wonderful to hear about the family holiday adventures from the students whilst I’ve been visiting classrooms and out on yard duty. I’ve been greeted by many smiling faces and, I’ve also been privileged to have some visits from some students who have been very proud to share some amazing work.

Next week, on Wednesday 24th April, we will hold our annual ANZAC day ceremony to mark the 108th anniversary of ANZAC. A wreath will be laid under the flagpole, in memory of the men and women who gave their lives for the freedom that we enjoy today. I look forward to seeing as many parents as possible, at this special ceremony at 9:15am.

This week were welcomed the wonderful TheirCare team into our school to commence their service for our students. The students have been welcomed warmly by the new educators and have been lucky to have new equipment to engage with, which the students have thoroughly enjoyed. The mini table tennis has been a huge hit and at the new Lego table the students have delighted in creating some amazing creations. I’ve heard that the food has been delicious, and some students have said to their parents, that they don’t want to be picked up as they’ve been having a wonderful time.

SunSmart, we still need those hats at school.

A reminder that the 'hats required' period continues until the 30th of May as per our school policy. Even though the cooler days have commenced, sun protection is still strongly recommended due to the high UV. We look forward to continuing to see students wearing hats to protect themselves.

We look forward to a successful term with an open morning, Education week, our annual Math’s Night, Mother’s Day luncheon and stall, German Lantern Festival Cross country, Athletics day, Bangers and Bingo (Fathering Project), Soiree evening performance, educational excursions, and Gala days, to name a few events for this term.

Kind regards

Sharon Wildermuth
