Chaplain's Corner 2024

“WoW” what a term! I call this term speedway term because everything has flown by so fast.

But what a way to finish the term, with one of the best holidays when we get to enjoy eating hot cross buns and chocolates, Yum!

To help with some relaxing skills when life becomes out of hand, here is a breathing exercise that you may want to try.

Bumblebee Breath

You can use many animal analogies to teach kids how to breathe.

The options are endless: snake breath, bear breath, dragon breath, but I think the easiest to teach is bumblebee breath.

And it has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

How To:

  • Sitting comfortably with your legs crossed, breathe in through your nose for a count of 4.
  • As you breathe out, make a bee buzzing or humming sound.
  • Variation: When you exhale, place your fingers in your ears and hum out your exhalation.
The comforting vibration of this has a calming effect. And even better, close your eyes for an even more peaceful moment.

Have a great holiday break, take care and stay safe and I look forward to seeing you next term.

Q. What do you get when you pour hot water down a rabbit hole?

A. Hot cross bunnies....
