Harmony Week

18 - 22 March

Thursday, March the 21st is Harmony Day… but because our College is such a diverse and multicultural community, we will celebrate for a whole week!

There are plenty of fun activities planned, including a PG-rated movie, cultural music, colouring-in and sport activities, that showcase the theme of inclusivity, helping the College community learn about the many cultures of the world and especially the ones that are the most prominent in Australia.

On Thursday, in an effort to raise funds for Caritas Australia everyone is encouraged to bring a gold coin donation and come to school wearing orange hair accessories with their formal summer uniform. If you forget on the day, don't worry as there will be a small supply of orange hair ribbon similar to what was available at last week's International Women’s Day.

Students also have the option of wearing a cultural item which highlights their cultural identity or heritage. If wearing a cultural item, students can wear their sports uniform.

The aim of the week is for our community to understand that people of all different cultures can make a valuable contribution to society ‘Piece by Piece’.
