Harmony Day
Harmony Day takes place in Australia every March 21. It is a day to celebrate all the different cultures that are a part of Australia. It is also an opportunity to pay tribute to the original inhabitants of the country, the Indigenous Australians. We read a story called 'I'm an Australian too' by Mem Fox, which celebrates Australia's incredible multicultural heritage. Then we discussed how we are different and how we all belong here in this land. In small groups, the students worked together to trace around their hands and decorate.
We then created a mural together showing 'Everyone Belongs'.
