Years 5/6

The Year 5 students were happy to see the end of their NAPLAN testing this week. They all worked hard and did their best to showcase a snapshot of their knowledge. NAPLAN results should be back by the end of Term 2.

We have also been busy typing the final stages of our persuasive texts and preparing them for publication. Keep a watch out in the this newsletter for their work.

The whole class spent some time on Wednesday sorting out the nesting boxes; cleaning and pricing the different sizes and styles. We then began to create some persuasive posters and nesting box advertising to display at the Redgum Festival. Pippa calculated if we sell all the boxes at the set price we will would make over $500 and the good news is there are more boxes to come!

Many of the children are keen to help out on our Nesting Box Stall at the festival which is wonderful.

We are planning to have 4 of the boxes placed on school trees this weekend. Wildlife sensor cameras will follow next term. Children can then observe who or what creatures move in!
