Whole School Cross Country

Our Whole School Cross Country is scheduled for Wednesday 24 April, from approximately 9.10am to recess. All students will compete in our Whole School Cross Country, with Years F-2 running laps of our school oval and Years 3-6 competing in 2km and 3km courses near Gilbert Gordon Oval. Children who are in Year 3-6 who turn 8, 9 or 10 years old in 2023 will run a 2km course and children who turn 11, 12 and 13 years old in 2023 will run a 3km course. Preps will run two laps of the oval and Year 1 and 2 will run four laps of the oval.

Students are encouraged to dress in their House colours for this event:

  • Mitchell – Blue
  • Chisholm – Yellow
  • Dryden – Green
  • Ebden – Red

Spectators are welcome at this event. The Prep to Year 2 races will be held on the WPS Oval and spectators are welcome to cheer on students from behind the school boundary fence (outside the school), along the footpath near the oval. Students in Year 3-6 will be running a course around the creek near the Gilbert Gordon oval. Spectators are welcome to support students from the ‘fire track’ or a position around, but off the course, in this area.

The focus of the Cross Country is fun, fitness and building a strong school community and House Team spirit. For students in Years 3 – 6 it is also the selection trial for our District Cross Country, which will be held at Hanging Rock on May 7.

Year 4-6 House Athletics/Athletics Trials Day

The House Athletics/Athletics Trials Day for Year 4-6 students took place at the Kyneton Showgrounds late last term. A huge thank you to the parents and grandparents who assisted on the day. Your support was integral to the success of the day and is very much appreciated.
